    Description

Upon entering the hallway one immediately senses the feel of the Hunting lodge. Three Javali (wild boar) trophy heads peer down at you, testament to the hunting heritage of Portuguese rural life. This feeling is prevalent throughout the lodge leaving you feeling welcome to the surrounding estate and its rural lifestyle. Beautiful upholstered walls give some of the rooms a truly luxurious yet rustic feel to the interior of the hunting lodge accented with authentic pieces of furniture and art.

A double sitting room allows for plenty of space to relax with a good book, watch a favourite movie or even enjoy your best holiday videos on the TV. A large country kitchen with a light and airy feel and furnished with an oversized oven and a large fridge and other modern appliances is perfect for preparing a meal to be enjoyed in the dining room with a cosy sitting area near a wonderful central fire place oven that heats the room up perfectly. The accommodation consists of a twin en suite bedroom, a double en suite, 2 adjoining twin bedrooms, a double room and a single room with two further bathrooms, one with a bath and the other with a walk in shower.

The stables are located 100m down a leafy track where some beautiful Lusitanos are kept when they are not out to pasture. The Estate has a myriad of tracks on private land far from any traffic or urban noise pollution to spoil a wonderful ride on the soft sand of the surrounding pine forests. A full-size gym is found behind the stables and close to the pigsties and turkey houses and is furnished with modern equipment for those looking to exercise in a unique farmyard setting. The gym is also equipped with a sauna and steam room.

Located on the Arrábida peninsula, the estate is located only 30 km south of Lisbon, a short 45 minute drive south of the Tejo River. The Arrábida peninsula is renowned for its outstanding beauty, and as a protected nature reserve it is imbued with incredible scenery with unspoilt beaches protected in the lee of the wooded mountainside. The fishing port of Setúbal is located only 20 minutes away by car and is one of the main gateways to the Arrábida peninsula and a short ferry ride across the Sado estuary brings you to the virgin beaches of the Troia peninsula and fashionable Comporta. Setúbal is famous for its seafood restaurants serving the local speciality of grilled cuttlefish amongst other delightful seafood dishes and the fish market is classified as one of the 10 best markets in the world.

Villa Warbler is a wonderful property steeped in history since before the great earthquake of 1755. It has passed through generations of European nobility over its lifetime. The construction of the manor house was started in about 1715 by a Dutch admiral António Cremer, who settled in Portugal and was responsible for modernising the factories and process that manufactured Portuguese gunpowder. The estate was passed down to his second son Maurício José Cremer Van Zeller, his first son having died in the fire that followed the 1755 earthquake. Subsequently Maurício’s daughter, D. Catarina Sofia died without leaving an heir and the estate fell into disrepair.
