All bedrooms bar one are on the second floor, with the living areas all on the ground floor leading out onto the large terrace and garden.

INSIDE:

This is a wonderfully spacious villa spread widely over two levels, sleeping up to sixteen guests in nine bedroom suites some with enviable views of Kirstenbosch National Park and Table Mountain, the city’s most definitive feature.

Step inside to the hall on the ground floor which opens expansively to the outside living and dining spaces, the landscape and the views. Bishopscourt Villa invites the outside into every space.

The open plan arrangement of the living areas ensures an easy-going atmosphere, encouraging casual interaction between spaces. The spaces flow into each other and link to the outdoor areas.

Inside, TV and formal lounges provide spaces for family and relaxation time and watching international sports and open up to the terraces outside. A beautiful dining area, seating up to twenty guests, with spectacular views, is a step or two down from the central open plan kitchen, where the chef and his team prepare magnificent menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner at your request.

The house has been thoughtfully decorated by Magda Viotti with relaxed elegance in mind. Fires and rugs and plenty of colour perfectly showcase the fine collection of art by South African and Zimbabwean artists, curated for the house over the years.

It is a warm, vibrant and fun family home, designed to be both relaxing and quietly formal with space for everyone.

The East Wing hosts quiet suites and terraces with expansive views and the light and airy study. Suites 1-4.

The West Wing is the family wing where alongside the suites, you will find the two family bunk rooms, gym, games room and children’s retreat TV/movie lounge and terrace with table tennis and table football. An ideal space for teenagers and children.

OUTSIDE

The property is set in spectacular grounds with glorious views of Table Mountain from every aspect, a vast manicured lawn, and indigenous planting using stunning local Fynbos trees and shrubs.

Within the grounds you will find a tennis and basketball court and match viewing platform, a trampoline set into the lawn and a twenty metre swimming pool, which at its deepest is 4.1m, the jacuzzi, steam room and outside shower.

The East Terrace is made for relaxing on the sun deck or with a cocktail in the terrace lounge as you watch the sun setting. The open fire keeps the terrace warm on cooler days, whilst fans and sunscreens keep you cool on warmer days.

Sculptures from acclaimed Zimbabwean artist Dominic Benhura have been commissioned and collected by the family over the years and feature around the grounds and on the eastern terrace.

The West Terrace is for long leisurely breakfasts, post work out relaxing or after early morning trips to the beach with the family. This is the pool terrace for family Braai (BBQ) or spit roast gatherings. A well-loved tradition is Pizza Night, where Chef Lee freshly bakes pizzas with toppings to your order in the pizza oven or you may prefer to create your own!

GYM AND FAMILY AREA

The villa has a gym you will enjoy spending time in. Packed with state-of-the-art equipment and with unrivalled views overlooking Table Mountain it offers all you need to keep working out whilst you are away.

A personal trainer can be on hand all day to help you exercise in the gym safely and efficiently whatever your level, and there is a jacuzzi and sauna on the terrace below to soothe aching muscles.

The tennis coach and yoga teacher are also at the house most days and don’t forget the spa therapists are on hand to take care of more relaxing moments. Please note that the trainer, tennis coach and yoga teacher and spa treatments will need to be pre-booked. The house team will happily arrange this for you.

For children, teenage guests and families, the west wing caters for their every need. The terrace lounge has a full sized table tennis table, there is a chill out TV room with table football and access to the family bedroom suites, so the younger guests can have fun in a dedicated
