INSIDE:

Accommodation at Villa Christos is laid out over three independent, single-storey houses, each one just a short amble through the gardens from the central pool area.

The style throughout is simple and summery, with clean lines, white walls, touches of natural wood, and splashes of colour in the soft furnishings. Each house has been designed to encourage a carefree, indoor-outdoor lifestyle, and the internal spaces open outside at every opportunity. Everything, from the well-cushioned seating and the beds to the wardrobes, is built-in, seemingly sculpted from a single block. Tying everything together is the property’s distinct artistic motif, which comes in the form of ceramic embellishments: geometrically patterned tiles are found in the bathrooms and the kitchens, and many of the light fittings and other decorative elements have been custom-made and fired in a kiln.

House 1
The first house hosts a coffee-making station with a fridge and a sink, and two bedrooms:

• a double with a little built-in sitting area, and an open, en-suite bathroom with a central, sea-view sink, a shower to the left and a separate WC to the right. French doors open out onto a shared terrace with views out to sea
• a sea-view double with en-suite shower room and access to the shared terrace

House 2
The second house is the largest of the three. In the centre is a kitchen with fridge, sink and oven, and a sea-view sitting area with a built-in, corner sofa, a little table, a TV and access to a terrace. On either side of this sociable space are two bedrooms:

• a double with sea-views, access to a terrace, and an en-suite shower room
• a double-twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room that opens out into a secluded walled courtyard with an al fresco shower

House 3
The third house hosts a coffee-making station with a sink, and two bedrooms:

• a sea-view double with access to a panoramic terrace overlooking the pool area and the sea, and an en-suite shower room that opens out into a little walled courtyard with an al fresco shower
• a double-twin with a sofa and an en-suite shower room that opens out into a little walled courtyard with an al fresco shower

OUTSIDE:

Immersed in wrap-around gardens of whispering olive trees, fragrant shrubs, cacti, ornamental grasses, colourful oleander, vivid bougainvillea and a host of other Mediterranean plants, the three houses that comprise Villa Christos all open out onto sea-view terraces with cushioned, built-in seating. Steps from the terraces connect to paths that weave around the grounds.

At the heart of the property is the social hub, a multi-faceted pool area that caters for all possible al fresco pleasures. The pool itself is a 14.5m-long mirror of cobalt water with infinity edges on two-and-a-half sides and clad externally in the same geometrically patterned tiles found inside the houses. Comfy daybeds and sun loungers offer plenty of space for sun worshippers.

Flanking the pool on two sides are a pair of generously spacious, well-shaded and extremely convivial gazebos. The first hosts a sea-view dining table, an al fresco kitchen with a large barbecue, plenty of worktops, an island with bar stools, a sink and a fridge. In-keeping with the carefree, summery vibe of the house, this is where you will prepare and take most of your meals.

The second gazebo, meanwhile, is home to a voluminous lounge area with a large, built-in sofa and a day bed, all topped with cushions and mattresses. There’s also a sun-kissed sitting area and an al fresco shower nearby.

Finally, a gate at the bottom of the garden opens out onto a little public road, at the bottom of which, some 140m away, is glorious Soros beach and the sparkling Aegean Sea.
