Villa Tavros

INSIDE:

Accommodation at Villa Tavros is laid out over a main house on three levels and two independent guest rooms accessed from the gardens.

At the centre of the ground floor in the main house is a large, welcoming entrance hall, off which most of the accommodation flows.

A few steps down leads to a generously proportioned living area with terracotta-tiled floors, lofty wood-beamed ceilings, a fireplace, sea views and access to the gardens and pool area.

Through a wide opening, the living area flows into the sea-view dining room, which has access to the al fresco dining area, the front gardens and a shady rear patio.

Set back a little from the living and dining rooms is the well-equipped kitchen with central island and, via the shady rear patio, access to the al fresco dining area to the side of the house. Next to the kitchen is a guest WC.

Back in the entrance hall, a few steps lead up to a study with sea views and sliding glass doors opening out into the gardens and the pool area. The two ground floor bedrooms are accessed from the study and comprise:

• the main bedroom, a good-sized sea-view double with garden access and an en-suite bathroom with tub and shower attachment
• a twin bedroom with garden views and en-suite bathroom with tub and shower attachment

Back in the entrance hall, stairs lead up and down to the first and the lower ground floor.

The first floor is home to two bedrooms, a double and a twin, both with wonderful sea views and en-suite bathrooms with tub and shower attachment.

The lower ground floor, meanwhile, is home to the fabulous cinema room, with large screen, projector, surround sound, plenty of comfy seating and a bar, and a double bedroom with a sitting area, a kitchenette, and an en-suite bathroom with tub and shower attachment.

The light, airy garden guest rooms, similar in style to laid-back cabanas, are located to the side of the house. Both are accessed from the garden and come with sea-view double-twin bedrooms, walls of sliding glass doors opening out onto the pool terrace, and en-suite shower rooms.

OUTSIDE:

Villa Tavros is enveloped by mature verdant gardens that create a secluded, extremely private ambience.

To the front of the house, accessed from main bedroom, the study, and the living and dining rooms, is a long terrace and a extensive sweep of manicured lawn. Sitting at the centre is the gorgeous 15m-long zero-edge pool, which features a curvaceous arc to one side. At the edge of the pool is a shady pergola, topped with climbing plants and furnished for sitting and relaxing. Here and there, olive trees whisper in the gentle breeze, and wide-reaching sea views pan out for miles.

A little below the level of the pool is a built-in sitting area that has been strategically positioned to make the most of the views, while to the side of the house is a covered terrace furnished for lazy lunches and long, convivial dinners.

A path with steps wends its way down from the lawns to the pebbly beach below. It takes a couple of minutes but there’s another panoramic sitting area on the way if rest is required.

Exploring round the back of the house is a secluded patio outside the kitchen, a copse of mature, leafy trees, and then Villa Tavros’s fabulous tennis court, which is floodlit for those who enjoy an evening set or two. Next to this, finally, is a children’s play area.
